A Russian Fable

I figured it was time to change my journal. So here's a Russian fable I think we can all learn from...

One cold winter's day, a peasant was walking along a country road. He didn't have a warm coat to protect him from the cold, so he was trying to get home as soon as possible. Then something on the side of the road caught his eye. He went to look at it, and found it was a bird, nearly frozen to death. The peasant picked the bird up and put it inside his shirt, hoping his body heat could revive the little creature. Then he walked on. He could feel the bird faintly stirring against his chest. He decided the bird needed more heat in order to revive fully. Then he came upon a cow pasture. He saw a fresh steaming pile of cow dung. The peasant decided that this would have enough heat for the bird. So he went over to the pile, put the bird in it, then went on his way, satisfied that he had helped save the life of a living creature. Soon, the bird was warmed back to life. It was so happy to be alive, it sang. A nearby cat heard the singing, followed the sound to the bird, and promptly ate it.
There are three morals to this story...
1. Someone who gets you in deep shit isn't necessarily your enemy.
2. Someone who gets you out of deep shit isn't necessarily your friend.
3. If you're in deep shit, keep your mouth shut.
